One of the biggest myths in the sector goes something like this: ‘As soon as a prospective student comes to our open day they will ultimately enrol with us’.
Unless the subject-specific talk is amazing, that student will never enrol. Quite rightly, they want to feel inspired by the subject talk – it’s a sample of their future academic experience in a nutshell. Why, then, are so many open day talks so… lacklustre? And what should we do about it?
